The many faces of Mia

This is a 2 page 8 1/2 X 11 LO that I did of my 16 y/o daughter, she always makes the most amazing faces, when she was young my little sisters would get her to make all sorts of expressions just for fun, I think by now it is habit, but we think she is fabulous.

I used the Nifty Fifties Cartridge for the font, and the paper came from the Lemon Stack by DCWV.  All of the letters are covered in silver glitter glue, I am not sure why it didn't show up very well in the pics, but it looks pretty cool in person. 

Gotta Live One Here!

Hehehe, since I scrapbook my ancestors so much I get a little excited when I find a LO I really want to use for my kids :)  This is my daughter Mia (The darker girl) with her 2 best friends.  Not to brag, but dang we've got some beautiful girls there.When I saw the sketch on LMLC I knew exactly what I wanted to do.  

The stamp up up in the corner says, Blessed are we who can laugh at ourselves, for we shall never cease to be amused.  I used the Glam Girl Stack from DCWV for the paper, and the stickers, well I must have bought them somewhere sometime, but the answer to that question will just have to be answered by someone far smarter than I... Needless to say I had a wonderful time scrapbooking my sweet little (5'10") baby.     

Hugs and Kisses

Today I made a card following the sketch at Come and Get it Challenges, This is for my daughter who is 16 and away from home right now, I just wanted to send her a quick reminder of how much I love her, and when I came across this sketch I had to try it out.

Wedding LO Part Deux

This is my grandparents on their wedding day, sadly both have passed on, my grandmother before I was born, so I never got to know her.  I am making a book of my grandmothers life, and am scrap-booking as many pictures of her as I can find to be part of it, she hated having her picture taken although when I see these pictures of her wedding day I don't understand why, I think that she was beautiful.  

I am entering this LO in the challenge at "The Paper Variety"  the challenge was black and white with a kiss of   color, so I chose the color that (I think) her bouquet was.  My background paper is from DCWV's The Formal Stack, the roses in the original paper were white, I don't know why it came out looking pinkish when I took my picture, the effect is much more striking in person.  The accent paper is from The Old World Stack (also DCWV).  I used my Ashlyns Alphabet cart for the lettering and Walk In My Garden for the border, I used my gypsy to turn the roses into a border.          

Childhood Remembered

 This is a 2 page 8 1/2x11 LO of my grandmother as a child, these are the only pictures that we have of her from when she was born until 1947, I never had the privilege of knowing her, she passed away when when she was only 37, so this year as I am turning 37 myself I am attempting to make a scrapbook/story of her life to give to my mother.

I am entering this LO into the getting scrappy challenge at Amanda's Crafts and More, the challenge was a LO "anything goes".  

      

The paper I used is from Old World Stack by DCWV and the rub-ons are from Basic Grey and K&Company, the embossing was from Provo Craft.

Getting to know me

 I made this LO for the challenge going on at LMLC, I would never have guessed how hard it would be to scrap-book me.  I am a wife, a mother, a student genealogist, an amatuer crafter, I run a community theater, and have a fondness for things that sparkle and high heeled shoes.  But most of all everything that I am begins and ends with Family. (Except maybe the shoes) 

 I used the Forever Young cartridge for the hat and shoes, the Heritage cartridge for the grandfather clock, the Inspired Heart for the outline of Jesus and the word contradiction was from Ashlyns Alphabet.  The silver rub-on about family came from Basic Grey, and the Family stamp is from Stampabilities. The paper DCWV, dots and stripes.

Home Sweet Home

I am attempting to make a book in memory of my late Grandmother, using scrapbooking to give it life, as well as dates and occasions.  This particular page is being entered into the On The Edge  challenge going on at Whimsical Designs.  There are sadly very few pictures of my Grandmother, this is about 1955 in Seattle, Washington in front of her house.  I used my Nifty Fifties Cartridge for the house, done at 3"(that is width, not height). The sentiment came form sentimentalities, and the paper is a combination of Basic Grey, Stella Ruby Stack, and DCWV Old World Stack.

Wedding LO

This LO is of my Grandmother on her wedding day, she passed away before I was born but I grew up hearing wonderful stories abut her.  This year I will turn 37, which is the same age as she was when she died, so I have decided to make a scrapbook in her memory to give to my own mother.  The sketch that I used is for a challenge over at More Than Favors, The paper is from the DCWV Tradewinds stack, I used Accent Essentials cartridge, the sentiment stamp is by stampabilities, and the journaling stamp is Basic Grey.      

Accordian Fold Scrapbook

 This is an accordian memory book that I made, I used the Immortal Love stack from DCWV. I am entering it in the "Anything Goes" challenge over at Whimsical Designs (formerly Whimsical Wednesdays)

Baby Announcements

 I helped a friend make her baby announcements, and I had so much fun doing it!  I wasn't really very crafty when I had my own kids, and since I can't have any more, I decided to live vicariously through someone else.  The card is double sided, so the base is just one 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 piece of kraft cardstock, this

particular one was done on patterned paper from the Dots, stripes, & plaids stack from DCVW, we varied the backgrounds a little.  The honey pot was cut out at 4" and Pooh was done at 3 7/8, it was pretty basic, but the added touch where his picture was hidden in the honey pot made this one of

I am entering this card into the MAG challenge, a very dear friend of mine (actually several friends) have been so very supportive as I have been going through some things in my life, and I am (hopefully) at the tail end of the most difficult of those struggles and so I am taking the opportunity to tell these beautiful women how much thier friendship and support has meant to me.  The bears are from the Doodlecharms cartridge, the paper is from the Dots and Stripes (DCWV). I embossed the bottom paper with my Swiss Dots folder and the chipboard elements are made by Provo Craft.

Wedding card

My friend is getting married this weekend, and I made her this card, I am entering it into the challenge over at Card Positioning Systems.  And since her decorator and coordinator both had unexpected emergencies, I also get to play wedding planner!  I am so excited, I love weddings!  The paper came from the the DCWV I think its Creme and Black??  The sentiment is a rub-on from my stash.  I always keep wedding cards simple and sweet, the occasion is more than enough, you don't even have to try to be fabulous,
