Oh how I love making gifts at Christmas time!
Tonight I thought I'd make a little something to give as a Christmas gift, so I am entering it in the challenge atStamptacular Sunday, I thought it would fit in pretty well with the pile on the embellishments challenge at Pile It On, and I also decided that the tag that I stamped on qualified for the Tags challenge over at Come and Get it Challenges, and last but certainly not least a color challenge from allsorts, White, Gold and 1 other color (pink for me :)) And so with that, I will leave you happily crafting a beautiful Christmas for all of your loved ones. God Bless
My long hiatus is over!
After almost 8 months I am finally glad to be back, all work and no play made me awfully grumpy. I decided to try something different today, so I altered a picture frame for a challenge over at Word Art Wednesday, Deuteronomy 16:17 Every man shall give as he is able, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God which he hath given thee.
Finally taught my mother to use her design studio
My mother has owned her Design Studio for probably 2 years longer than I have owned mine, but she didn't know how to use it, so finally the other day she came over to help me move, and I sat down and taught her to use it instead. A much better use of our time, I must say. This is her finished product, it is a purse from the Forever Young cart. she removed the image that was on the original by using the design studio, and added a flower for a clasp instead. She used basic grey for the paper, and lots of foam tape to make the clasp really jump out at you. Good job Mom! She filled it up with candy and gave it to the girls at the front desk where she works.
Real Beauty
I made this for the challenge over at Cooking with Cricut. The challenge was pick your poison, your favorite cartridge and your favorite colors. So this was made using my Forever Young cartridge, done in red, black and white. I cut the figure at 5" the accessories were all cut at 1 1/2" except the shoes, they were cut at 1" I used glitter glue for the jewlery and the glittery part of the wording, the lipstick was cut on glitter paper from the same stack as the background and the dress. Tag for homemade goodies
I made this for the challenge at Whimsical Wednesday,
the challenge was to make a tag with bling. I give out
home made jam every year and have thought for a
while that I would like to add something to make it
more personal, but I wasn't sure what to do with it.
So this was a fun challenge for me. The tag is cut from
the Plantin School Book Cartridge at 3" I cut it twice,
once in cranberry and the second time in a plaid from the
Natural Stack from DCVW. The hearts are also from
Plantin School Book, but they are stretched around on
my Design Studio so I'm not sure what size they started
out. I used hemp twine and sticky blingy things
(it turns out you can need an i-rock).
My daughters first project
My 9 year old liked the blocks that we made for our living room so much that she decided to make some for her bedroom. She chose all of her own colors and papers, and even sanded the blocks herself. The backgrounds are all from the Glam Gal stack, the font we used from the Base Camp Cartridge and her letters are cut out on aqua glitter paper.
I tend to get stressed a little too easily, so this is my reminder to keep smiling, it is in HUGE letters on my bedroom wall, DH thinks that maybe I've finally lost it, but I love it. Every time I wake up in the morning I remember to smile!
Really nice projects!
